Your Portrait by Nor

Beautiful hand-drawn portraits make a wonderful gift, or simply an invaluable snapshot in time for you to keep. I work from life and will arrange sitting for your portrait at your convenience.

Black and white sketch portraits are affordable and can be made quickly, usually in one sitting. I also offer larger portraits painted in mixed media on board, which take a little longer.

How does it work?

  1. Buy a Portrait Voucher from my webshop here. You can choose either a black and white sketch portrait, or a colourful painting on board. It will be posted to you, or your chosen recipient.
  2. The voucher can be used on a portrait of yourself, or someone else of your choosing.
  3. To redeem your voucher, we'll arrange a convenient time and place for the sitting. Contact me by email to arrange this.
  4. Sketch portraits can usually be finished in one sitting of an hour or two. For painted portraits we will arrange two sittings.

Terms & Conditions

  • A good quality portrait must be drawn from life, to get a real sense of the sitter. For this reason I will need to meet with the sitter in person and do not make drawings only from photographs.
  • Sittings take place within Oxford, usually at my Jericho studio (Makespace Oxford) unless agreed otherwise before purchase. If you have a sitter in mind outside of Oxford city, please get in touch with me before ordering to discuss if this can be arranged.
  • Vouchers are valid for two years from the date of issue and will expire if not used by then.
  • In rare cases, it may not be appropriate for me to make a portrait of, or for, someone who is known to me professionally. Please get in touch before ordering if you know me professionally and are at all unsure. If an order is made and I am unable to undertake it for this reason, a full refund will be given.
  • Your finished portrait will be unframed, and will need to be collected by you from Makespace Oxford unless agreed otherwise.
  • Once finished and collected, the portrait is yours to keep. I will retain copyright of the image and the right to publish it as part of my portfolio, though will not mention the name of the sitter unless agreed beforehand. You are welcome to make your own copies & prints, provided you credit me according to the terms of this Creative Commons license (CC-BY-SA).

If you have any questions before ordering or would like to commission something tailed to you, please get in touch!
