The Democratic Co-ordinate
The Democratic Co-ordinate is a single-node vector drawing created by averaging out all the drawings produced by a group. It is a humourous solution to the problem of how a diverse group might collaborate on a single document, created during the summer school held by Open Source Publishing in Brussels, August 2013. A simple Python script, reduce.py, is passed all the MPOST-format files in a given directory (for example, a shared git repository) as arguments. It averages out all the co-ordinates of all the drawings to create a single, averaged co-ordinate: a truly democratic drawing.
